Homework
The most important thing that you can do to further your child’s education is to read to and with your child. Research has repeatedly shown that students need at least one hour of reading per day to become good readers. In order for your child to get extra practice, he/she needs to practice reading at home for at least 20 minutes per day, 7 days a week.
On Fridays our homework sheet will come home. It has a spelling list that your child should practice, as much as needed. Your child should write down what stories were read (by/to/with your child). If your child reads from Raz-Kids.com or our Reading Street program's website, that counts, too. There is also a math practice sheet on the back. Please let me know if your child is having problems with any part of the homework and also let me know when he/she is doing a great job at home with the homework!
Homework is usually due on Fridays. If we have a short week, it will be due on the last day of the week. Please have your child work on it and send it back on the following Friday. "Goodie Box" raffle tickets will be given out to kids who return their homework. Thank you for your help at home!
